Tatjana Schaefer co-curated the exhibition I transmit. 100 Years of Joseph Beuys. She works as curator and writer in postwar and contemporary art and holds an M.A. from Goldsmiths, University of London.
In her current role as Assistant Curator at Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, she pursues a practice of breaking with the canonical narrative by introducing encounters between emerging and established positions, and by taking radical interventionist approaches of placing art in social spaces beyond the white cube.
Her further research interests lie in transgressive artistic practices incorporating mythologies and rituals as ways of healing and empowerment against trauma and political discrimination. She is currently working on feminist collectives of the 1960s-80s in New York.
As independent curator and writer, Tatjana collaborates with emerging artists, galleries and museums on exhibition projects and publications.
